Edwin Shafer, Jr., Director,

Joined Camp Staff in 1976, after 10 years as a camper, former counselor and Assistant Director. Win has been Director or Co-Director since 1993. Win currently coaches MS Squash at Episcopal Academy (Newtown Square, PA), and a Middle School Science teacher. He is a licensed PIAA and NISOA Soccer Official, and has also coached Varsity Ice Hockey, Golf and JV Soccer.
Win took a sabbatical during most of the summer of 2009, hiking the entire length of the Appalachian Trail with his son Blake.
Win has a B.S. (Biology) from The University of Pennsylvania, and an M.A. in Counseling from Villanova University. Win lives in Haverford, PA |

Cannie Shafer, Co-Director

Joined Camp Staff in 1982. She is the former head of the Craft Shop at S4B, Assistant Director of S4G, and Co-Director of S4B since 2001. Cannie worked for 30 years at The Episcopal Academy (Newtown Square, PA), including seventeen years as Head of Lower School (Devon Campus) and 2 years as Assistant Head of School. She currently serves as Head of Lower School at Germantown Academy, Fort Washington, PA.
Cannie has an A.B. from Sweet Briar College (VA) and an M.A. (Elementary and Secondary Administration) from Villanova University. As an athlete at Sweet Briar, Cannie earned 12 varsity letters in Lacrosse, Field Hockey, and Basketball, and is a charter member of the college's Athletic Hall of Fame. Andrew Hano, Head of Boy's Camp

Joined Camp Staff originally in 1990 as a counselor, after 8 years as a camper. Andrew returned to Susquehannock in 2008 with his camper daughter Abigail and his younger son Drew.
Andrew holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Education from Wake Forest University. He is a Middle School History teacher at Summit School in Winston-Salem, NC. |

Tricia Pearson, Head of Girl's Camp

Joined Camp Staff in 2007. Trish joined us having heard about Camp all of her married life because her husband Tim Percevecz was an 11 year Susquehannock veteran in the 70's and 80's. Tricia was a camp counselor during college out in Colorado, where she taught canoeing and mountain climbing.
Tricia lives with her family in McKinney, Texas, where she teaches World Geography at McKinney-Boyd High School, and is a curriculum coordinator. Tricia is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma |

Robert Kent, Assistant to the Head of S4B

Joined Camp Staff in 1980, after 6 years as a camper. "RK" coached Tennis and Hockey at the Marvelwood School (Cornwall, CT). He is a fourth degree black belt in Aikido and has helped run the Youth Program at Aikido West in Redwood City for 18 years. In addition he designs aerospace manufacturing systems. He is the founder of both AikidoKids.com and The PeaceCamp Initiative. "RK" teaches an Aikido and Politics course in January for the Political Science Department at his alma mater, Williams College.

Jon Savitch, Assistant to the Head of S4B

Joined Camp Staff in 1988, after 6 years as a camper. "Savy" is a teacher at the nationally acclaimed Watershed Program at Radnor Middle School, Radnor, PA. He is also the Head Middle School Coach of Girl's Basketball, Girl's Lacrosse, and Boy's Soccer.
Jon is a graduate of SUNY Binghamton as well as the NOLS Outdoor Education Program. Jon lives in Rosemont, PA. |

Jay Pearcy, Assistant to the Head of S4G

Jay joined Camp Staff in 1993, after 9 years as a camper. After 14 years away, Jay returned to camp with his wife Jennifer and daughters Kaitlyn and Elizabeth, soon followed by his son Ryan. Jay is the Middle School Dean of Students at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. At SCH Academy Jay also coaches Middle School soccer and Upper School varsity lacrosse.

Tim Percevecz, Arts & Crafts Program Head

Tim re-joined Camp Staff in 2008, after having spent 11 years as a camper and one year as a counselor back in the 70's and 80's. Tim runs the Arts & Crafts program for both camps. Tim is a graduate of The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. He lives in McKinney, Texas with his wife Tricia and their camper daughter Cassidy, and works in the computer industry. |

Carroll Bedford, Horseback Riding Program Head

Joined Camp Staff in 2004 and directs the Camp horseback riding program. Carroll rode professionally for almost 20 years, and has been teaching Hunting and English Riding for more than 50 years. She works with the majority of camp's horses year round. During the rest of the year, Carroll teaches at Foxnest Farm in Montrose, PA.

Morgan Fox

Joined Camp Staff in 2002. At Susquehannock, Morgan teaches Basketball and Weight Training.
Morgan attended Goucher College as an undergraduate where he played Varsity Basketball. The team won their regular season, conference tournament and went to the 2nd round of one NCAA tournament.
He is now a Graduate Student at Goucher College, where he is the assistant coach for the men's basketbsall team and is pursuing a M. Ed in Athletic leadership and Administration. |

Joined Camp Staff in 2007, after 13 years as a camper. Blake is a 4th generation member of the staff as the great-grandson of Camp Susquehannock founder George Carlton "King" Shafer and son of Win and Cannie Shafer.
Blake graduated from The Episcopal Academy (Newtown Square, PA), where he played Varsity Soccer, Basketball, and Lacrosse. He is a Junior at Bates College (Lewiston, ME) and will be studying Chinese and Economics at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China this fall. |

Nora Saunders, S4G Head Counselor

Joined Camp Staff in 2005 after 8 years as a camper. Nora is a 4th generation member of the staff as the great-granddaughter of Camp Susquehannock founder George Carlton "King" Shafer and camp counselor Charles B. Saunders, counselor 1917-1921.
Nora is a graduate of Davidson College, where she majored in Psychology and rowed crew for 2 years. She spent last year getting a masters degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. She is moving to D.C. after camp to start her job in consulting. |

Marin is a multi-generational staff member - her father served as camp doctor for several years, her grandfather was a counselor from 1948-1950, and her uncles Robert and Tim Kent have been around camp since 1973. Marin recently graduated from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. She now attends Trinity College, CT where she plays intramural Soccer and Basketball.

Tarryn joined Camp Staff in 1998. She is from South Africa, and while at camp her first year, Tarryn met Eric Rozen (a veteran counselor and camper at Camp Susquehannock for Boys) The two were married in 2000. Tarryn has served as a counselor, Program Director and Site-Director of S4G. Tarryn currently serves as Camp's off-season Office Administrator.
Tarryn is a graduate of Pietermarizburg University in South Africa, where she earned her Bachelors in Social Science, majoring in Psychology and Law, and an Honors degree in Psychology. She and Eric live in Rochester, NY, with their children Dara and Seth.

Josh Oryhon joined camp staff in 2001 as a counselor. Since 2006, he has worked to spread the word about Camp in addition to planning reunions and other off-season events. He regularly updates Tripp Lake Times and helps maintain Susquehannock's presence on the internet.
Josh graduated from the State University of New York at Albany, where he majored in Slavic Studies. Josh retired as the only undefeated goaltender in the Great Danes hockey team's history. Josh lives in Philadelphia, PA.
