Susquehannock's founder, King Shafer, was a national champion tennis player, and his son George Shafer, a prominent college player, was named Coach of the Year while running the program at the Episcopal Academy near Philadelphia. Numerous prominent players and coaches over the years have called Susquehannock home, and the current program, under the direction of Tim and Maude Kent for the last 20 years, continues the Susquehannock tradition of combining rigorous training for the competitive player with effective and fun introduction to the sport for novices. Tim is the current Episcopal Academy Varsity coach, and his team last year was considered the best in Pennsylvania.
There are several competitive opportunities off-campus each summer, and we often host visiting teams for round-robin tournaments.
